Repairs, servicing and fault finding for existing systems
Not every solar PV, battery or EV charging system we look after was installed by us. We test, diagnose, service and repair existing systems — including for clients whose original installer is no longer trading.
When your original installer isn't around anymore
It's a well-known problem in the renewable energy industry: a system gets installed, and a few years later the company that fitted it has stopped trading — leaving the customer with no one to call when something needs attention, a warranty they can't claim on, or a system that's never quite performed as promised. We help clients in exactly this position, with an independent assessment and a solution tailored to their property and their actual electrical demand, not just a patch-up.
What we cover
- Testing and fault finding on solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems
- Servicing and routine maintenance
- Repair and replacement of faulty components
- Adaptation of existing systems to changed demand — new appliances, an EV, an extension, or a change in how you use your property
- Independent assessment where your original installer is no longer trading
- Honest advice on whether a system is worth repairing, upgrading, or replacing
- All remedial work fully tested, documented and certificated
- DNO applications reviewed or corrected where a previous installer got it wrong
We won't oversell, and we won't leave you underachieving
The same principle runs through every job we take on, new install or remedial work: we won't design or recommend a system that underachieves for the client. If a repair is the right call, that's what we'll propose. If your demand has genuinely outgrown your system, we'll say so — with a transparent, economical solution, not the biggest job we can sell.
How it works
The process starts the same way as any other enquiry: a free initial assessment of your existing system and your current usage. From there, we'll be straightforward about what we find — whether that's a simple fault, a servicing need, or a system that was never designed correctly for your demand in the first place — and set out your options before any work begins.
Frequently asked questions
My original solar installer has gone out of business — can you still help?
Yes. This is a common problem in the industry, and we regularly help clients in this position, with a solution tailored to their electrical demand.
Do you work on systems you didn't originally install?
Yes — testing, fault finding, servicing and remedial work on existing systems is one of our core services, regardless of who installed it.
What if my energy needs have changed since my system was installed?
We can assess your current usage and adapt your system accordingly — additional capacity, a battery upgrade, or reconfiguring what's already there.
